Rwanda Announces Back-to-School Plan for Boarding Students

The National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) has released the official schedule for the return of boarding school students ahead of the third and final term of the 2024-2025 academic year.
To ensure a smooth transition, NESA has organized a phased return for students, with transportation services commencing on April 21, 2025. Students are expected to report to their respective schools between April 21 and April 24, depending on their district. Classes for all students, including boarding and day scholars in nursery, primary, and secondary schools, are set to begin on April 25, 2025.
Kigali Pele Stadium in Nyamirambo has been designated as the central departure point for students traveling to schools in various districts. The stadium will operate daily from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM during the transportation period. Police officers and volunteers will be on hand to assist students in boarding the correct buses to their respective schools.
Parents are urged to adhere to the scheduled transport calendar to prevent congestion and ensure timely arrival of students at their schools. Delays in returning students to school can disrupt the organized transportation system and create challenges for bus companies contracted to transport students. Students are required to wear their school uniforms and carry their student identification cards during travel.
This structured approach aims to facilitate a smooth and organized return to school for boarding students across the country.
